27th Feb 2019, Kasba Kolkata: Today evening, Mr. Goutam decided to have pizza with his friends. Around 4:11 pm, he ordered a ‘Veg Solo Pizza Combo’, a set of 4 pizzas from Eagle Boys Pizza but he ordered it form UberEats food delivery and make an online payment. His order no is #0D6EC.
After one and half hours around 5:36 pm delivery boy Seikh (picture given below) call him and came for delivering the pizza. At the time of delivery, delivery boy Seikh tries to gave him 3 sets of Pizza instead of 4 sets of Pizza. He denied to received it as ‘WRONG FOOD / MISSING FOOD’.
Now here comes the interesting part; when he denied accepting the wrong food and request delivery boy Seikh to stay with him so that he can call to UberEats customer care or restaurant, the delivery boy becomes mad. As Mr. Goutam said “I am not going to accept 3 Pizza set as wrong food”, suddenly the delivery boy snatches the pizza boxes and runaway.
Mr. Goutam called UberEats customer care (+91 80468 52222), a lady picks up the call and after listen all, she politely said that as Mr. Goutam do not accept the order so his money is forfeited, whether he received the wrong food or not they don’t care they only care about money and maybe they will take care from next time. Mr. Goutam requested her to transfer to the floor manager and she transfer someone named ‘Priya’. After listening all, Priya put his call on hold as acting of calling the delivery boy and after 3 to 5 secs, as usual, she replied that delivery boy not picking up the phone.
After that, Mr. Goutam called Eagle Boys Pizza (+91 70440 68207) and they clearly confirm that they have 4 sets of Pizza to the delivery boy ‘Seikh’ so it’s clear that that delivery boy Seikh involve in one pizza missing as he knows it was a paid order and also that’s why delivery boy runaway with other 3 pizzas.
Now the question is:- recently came to market, UberEasts, also start scamming their customer with their delivery boy and customer care team. We have a partial voice recording of the conversation with UberEats customer care Priya; tomorrow Mr. Goutam will go for National Consumer Forum and pleaded for help. After UberEat’s scam delivery boy and customer care, hope they will listen to the victims like Mr. Goutam.
Why good to avoid UberEats and select Swiggy or Zomato:
- Swiggy or Zomato have a good prompt action own customer care, UberEats use a call center and may be or may not complain forward to the main concern team or not.
- Swiggy or Zomato instantly give delivery boy’s name and contact number as soon as you place an order but UberEats give 3rd party number and after delivery boy collects the food. So that you can’t consult delivery boy whether he picks up the right food or wrong food.
- If a customer complains, Swiggy or Zomato instantly put conference call with restaurant, delivery boy and customer care and make it clear. UberEats have no such facilities.
- Swiggy or Zomato immediately return the money base on restaurant or delivery dispute, UberEats forfeited the customer’s money in any condition.
